Did You Know That "O" Is Pronounced in Four Ways?
As you know, in English, spelling and pronunciation are not identical.
The letter "o" can be pronounced as :
The short /ɒ/ sound as in: box, office, boss, cross, cloth (lesson 10, 11)
The long /ɔː/ sound as in: horse, corse, worn, porn, pork (lesson 3, 11)
The diphthong /əʊ/ as in: poke, pole, rose, suppose, old (lesson 16)
The schwa sound in unstressed position /ə/ as in: potatoes, tomatoes, conclude, combine, conform (lesson 6)
